Discover the Itinerary of Your Stay!

Day 1 - Bem-Vindo!

Upon arrival at Porto Airport, we will arrange your transfer to Chaves with your bikes and luggage, of course! If you arrive at another airport, we can also arrange transportation—just contact us!

In Chaves, you will stay in a charming hotel in the historic center, just steps away from the starting point of your adventure. Enjoy this first evening to soak in the local atmosphere and discover the cultural riches of this iconic northern Portuguese town.

Jour 1

Explore more of northern Portugal today, with traditional stone-built villages, vast forests, and farmlands.End the day in Tondela, a charming town with many excellent restaurants and cafés. Take the opportunity to enjoy local specialties and immerse yourself in Portuguese hospitality.

Jour 2

Notre deuxième journée à vélo nous conduira à Olhão, une ville emblématique, célèbre pour son marché aux poissons ! Une immersion complète dans la culture portugaise vous attend.

Day 4

This day takes you through the impressive hilly region of central-northern Portugal. Ride through picturesque landscapes and breathtaking panoramas.Finish the day at a hotel near the Barragem de Cabril, a beautiful reservoir on the Zézere River. Enjoy the splendid views and tranquility of this natural setting to rest and recharge.

Day 5

Today, wind through the beautiful hills, leaving Pedrógão Grande to reach Sertã and Vila de Rei. Be captivated by the beauty of central Portugal's landscapes—forests, small villages, and stunning views.

End the day in Ponte de Sor, where you can rest and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this charming town.

Day 6

Get ready—it’s the longest stage! But don’t worry, the route has relatively little elevation gain and is usually not the most challenging day.

Ride through the heart of the Alentejo, with roads lined with cork oaks, storks flying above, and the beautiful Alentejo cows grazing in the fields. Immerse yourself in the nature and authentic landscapes of this unique region.

Day 7

Today, cycle through southern Alentejo, with its vast plains and small traditional villages, to reach the Serra de Caldeirão in northern Algarve. We consider this portion of National Route 2 one of the most magnificent, winding through cork oak forests.

The last 30 km are mostly downhill, leading you from Barranco do Velho to Faro. Don’t miss the essential photo stop at the last roundabout of National Route 2 to mark the end of your challenge!

You’ll stay in one of the many hotels in Faro’s city center, just steps away from restaurants, the old town, and the marina. The next morning, you’ll be only 10 minutes from Faro Airport for your departure.

Day 8

It’s time to say goodbye. The National Route 2 experience has come to an end. We will arrange your transfer to Faro Airport, as well as your transport to the train station or bus stop for the next leg of your journey.

We can also arrange a transfer to Lisbon Airport (3 hours by road) for an additional fee.
